Marking?Trips marked with the national standard are marked in green (easy), blue (medium), red (demanding) and black (expert). DNT (The Norwegian Trekking Association) marked routes are marked with red T's, painted on cairns and stones. Local associations and sports clubs may have marked hiking trails in other ways. There are many different varieties. Ask at the tourist information office if you are unsure of the markings in the area you are visiting.

General facilities

  • Good to know - "Be aware that the mountain drops very steeply to the north. This side often has a big overhanging cornice. Keep a very safe distance, especially during winter and spring. The walk has been graded as ""Expert"" because of the tough climb (0-1848 m.). The path is very good."
  • Map - Turkart Loen-Lodalen, 1:50000
  • Parking - When you pass Tjugen camping on your left handside, continue for 150 metres until you reach a parking place on your right handside. Parking fee.

I walked to to Trolltunga 2 days before but I thought this hike was a bit tougher (though it doesn't have quite the same pay-off!)-first because it is continuously uphill from the start-I think the... Read full review

I never climbed mountains before, this was also my first long hike. I even had no shoes to do this. So we went a day before to the centre and bought some good shoes. When we started, we know it... Read full review
